Chapter 36 is one of those chapters of lists. It is the heritage of Esau. Esau moves from Canaan because his flocks and Jacob’s were too big to keep together. I find it interesting that Esau is the one who moved. Esau has been blessed too. Obviously, materially in that his livestock grew, and his family increased greatly as well. Esau was able to accept his blessing.
Today all of us who receive Jesus are children of the blessing. We need to learn the lesson of Esau and not be jealous if God blesses another differently. Envy and anger over another’s blessings do not help us. Esau was able to throw the yoke of his brother off. Many believers need to do the same today. Too many of us look at what others have and feel sorry for ourselves that we may not have what they have. Too many get jealous when others are recognized more than us. We need to throw those off and enjoy and do the best with what God has given us.
“Lord, forgive us when we look at what others have instead of the blessings You have given to us. Help us to be grateful! Thank You for all Your provisions for us. I pray this in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.”

The first of the 10 Commandments that is broken is the last ‘thou shall not covet’. James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. You can not lust without coveting.
thank you for bringing out the Godly lesson i needed to learn from this chapter because when i read it, i am saying "Esau's descendants blah blah blah." help me be satisfied and thank God for all my blessings.
