Exodus 15

Exodus 15 describes the celebration that Moses led the children of Israel in after their victory over Pharaoh. They prepared to sing and then sang with all their heart. We could learn much from their celebration. Moses began by getting the people prepared to sing, and then they sang of the wonders that had happened. They were confused and didn’t know where to go, but God made sense out of chaos. Their enemies were defeated. It was quite a sight when Miriam led the women with their tambourines and danced as they sang. Obviously, they sang wholeheartedly and without reservation. This type of worship is often missing in our services today.

The last part of the chapter has the people of Israel needing water. They found water but it was bitter and undrinkable. Of course, the people grumbled at Moses, but God showed Moses a piece of wood that would make the bitter water sweet. God does this in our lives if we will listen to Him and live for Him. God will show us how to make the bitter into sweetness.

“Lord, thank You for allowing us to sing praises to You. Thank You for taking bitter situations and making them sweet. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
